Thinking About Transferring?

Take this opportunity to talk with admissions officers from different schools. They can help you with questions about your major, admissions requirements, and much more. Sign up for an appointment in the Transfer Center Sign-up Binder. The Transfer Center is located in the Student Services Building, Room 8329 on the third floor. While you're there, sign up for one of the financial aid workshops we're offering in February.

Need Help Choosing a Major?

Go to a workshop designed for students who may be undecided or would like more information before making a final decision on a major and/or career. Workshops are free and no pre-registration is required. The meeting rooms are located in the Campus Center and you may bring your lunch if you wish. Look for additional workshops in Spring Quarter.

Explore career options that fit you best on Friday, February 20 from 10 - 11 a.m. in room 8329. You will use EUREKA, a computerized career guidance program, to learn what careers are compatible with your interests, values, salaries and job outlook, what schools you can transfer to that have your major, and much more. Visit the Career Center for a complete list of upcoming workshops.

Celebrate Black History Month

Yes We Have, Yes We Can, Yes We Will! is the theme for Foothill's 2009 Black History Month celebration. You are invited to participate in a variety of events featuring poetry, music, literature, art and dance throughout February. For a complete listing of events, see Black History Month 2009.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre at Foothill College

As part of its popular Black History Month celebration, Foothill College will host a performance by world-renowned Dallas Black Dance Theatre on February 6 at 8 p.m. in the Smithwick Theatre at Foothill College. Tickets are $25, general; $20, student with ID. Group rates are available. Purchase tickets online or by phone at (650) 949-7360.

Free Lipid Cholesterol Screening

The on-campus Health Services Office will provide free lipid cholesterol screening Feb. 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in room 2126 in the Campus Center. Screenings will be conducted by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call (650) 949-7243.

Authors Series Features Richard Thompson Ford

The Foothill College Author Series presents Richard Thompson Ford, author of The Race Card, How Bluffing About Bias Makes Race Relations Worse, February 5 at noon in the Campus Center Lounge (Room 2313). Admission is free and the public is invited.

Cash for College Day

Current and potential college students as well as their parents are invited to Foothill College's Cash for College Day on February 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Building I at the Foothill Middlefield Campus in Palo Alto. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. The event is ideal for high school and college students who currently attend or plan to attend a California community college, CSU, UC, private university or vocational/technical school. 9 Parts of Desire at Lohman Theatre

The Foothill College Theatre Arts Department presents a one-night-only performance of Heather Raffo's 9 Parts of Desire, the critically acclaimed production that stars shape-shifting actress Luisa Sermol in an incandescent portrayal of nine different women, February 8 at 7 p.m. in the Lohman Theatre at Foothill College. Authors Series Features Geoffrey Gluckman

The Foothill College Author Series presents Geoffrey M. Gluckman, author of Deadly Exchange, February 11 at noon in the Campus Center Lounge (Room 2313). Brimming with suspense, danger and mystery, Deadly Exchange conjures up a blend of the ordinary, the arcane, the seen, and the unseen in the search for truth. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Campus Closed for Presidents' Holidays Observance

In observance of the Presidents' Days holidays, the campus is closed February 13 and 16 2009. Weekend classes do not meet February 14 or 15.
