Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration: "Service for a Better Community"

Palo Alto City Hall and King Plaza, 250 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto
This promises to be a exceptional event. We're teaming up with the King Institute at Stanford and Youth Community Services to honor Dr. King, celebrate the prior weekend of community service projects, and send letters from local youth to President Obama,
There will be a special musical performance by Talisman, Stanford's wonderful choral group.
Other guests include: Judge LaDoris Cordell, Assemblymember Ira Ruskin, Mountain View Mayor Margaret Abe-Koga, East Palo Alto Vice Mayor David Woods, Menlo Park Vice Mayor Richard Cline, Palo Alto Councilmemer Yiaway Yeh, Palo Alto Mayor Peter Drekmeier, and Palo Alto Youth Council President Angela Yang.
Plus, there will be a special surprise at the end.
NOTE: In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Foothill College is closed Jan. 19, 2009. Classes do not meet.
