This weekend, you will take the COIN 63 lab quiz. It will be available in Etudes Testing today, Oct. 28th at 8:00 AM PT through Saturday, Oct. 29th at 10:00 PM PT.

The quiz will mimic the kind of quiz/test you might have in a job interview. You will have 45 minutes to complete the quiz from the time you log on. Read and follow the directions carefully so that you can carefully plan your strategy for being successful.

This weekend, you will take the COIN 61 quiz. It will be available in Etudes Testing today, Oct. 21st at 8:00 AM PT through Saturday, Oct. 22nd at 10:00 PM PT.

The quiz will cover the basic HTML tags we have learned so far, class notes and online readings. It is worth 10 points. Log on to Etudes sometime between the Quiz hours and allow yourself 20 minutes to complete the quiz.

He wants to set it up so that it carries the look and feel of the Foothill website. In addition he would like the capability of potential employers to enter jobs and such directly online... more detail to follow.

The Dean needs a student to work with the Foothill webmaster, Karen Oeh, and himself to set this site up and devise a protocol to administer it.

MSDN Academic Alliance Program

The CIS Department of Foothill College has recently subscribed to the MSDN Academic Alliance program under which students enrolled in any CIS class can acquire certain Microsoft software for only a small administrative fee. All of these software packages are non-time limited, full-featured programs subject to academic licensing that restricts their use to non-commercial purposes.

New Smoke-Free Campus Policy

To provide a safe learning and working environment for Foothill College students and employees, smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor campus locations, with the exception of designated parking lots. Smoking is permitted only in Parking Lots 1, 1G, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 7. The Foothill College Health Services Office provides a variety of smoking cessation aids. The Foothill-De Anza Community College District Board of Trustees approved a revised no-smoking policy June 20, 2005.

Earn College Credit for Your Paid or Volunteer Work

If you work 5 to 20 hours per week in a paid or volunteer position, you can earn college credit through Foothill’s Cooperative Education (Co-Op Ed) Program . Cooperative education units are transferable to the California State University system, particularly San Jose State and San Francisco State universities, and select private schools as electives. Cooperative education enables you to improve your work skills and build your employment portfolio, making you a more marketable candidate for a rewarding career. Our Web site will show you how to get started with the cooperative education course that best meets your needs, and provide you with information for the orientation session, course requirements, syllabus, grade determination, important deadlines as well as downloadable forms. Celebration of Courage: An International Mailart Show for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Foothill College presents Celebration of Courage: An International Mailart Show for Breast Cancer Awareness Month through Oct. 27 in the Semans Library at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. The exhibit features 121 pieces by 80 artists from 17 countries. Foothill students collaborated on every aspect of the show. Foothill will also send a team of walkers to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Oct. 22. Representatives from 50 Colleges & Universities Meet Foothill Students

Admissions representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities, including the University of California, California State University, private schools, and out-of-state and international institutions will meet with Foothill students at the college’s annual University Transfer Day Thursday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Library Quad. Admission is free. The event gives students the opportunity to meet one to one with admissions reps, and get answers to questions about financial aid, degree requirements, housing and more. Peninsula Women's Chorus

The Peninsula Women's Chorus (PWC), directed by Martin Benvenuto and accompanied by Susan Soehner, presents its winter concert, An Asian Winter & Other Litanies. Celebrity Forum Speakers Forum Line-Up Announced

The 2005-06 Celebrity Forum Speakers Series continues the tradition of bring the world’s best and brightest to the Silicon Valley. For the 38th season of the Foothill-De Anza Celebrity Forum, founder Dick Henning has invited back seven of the best of the series’ past. Speakers for this season include Tom Wolfe, Robert Ballard, Colin Powell, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Bill Moyers, Ken Burns and Tom Friedman. Foothill Helps Hurricane Victims

Foothill College has established the goal of raising $10,000 to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina from the Louisiana Community & Technical College System (LCTCS). Foothill College leaders are in direct contact with the president of LCTCS, where approximately 21,000 students and 1,000 employees have been displaced as a result of the storm. Foothill is committing its funds to an emergency relief fund to aid students and employees of the LCTCS community. Donations to the LCTCS relief fund will provide assistance to affected students who cannot afford books and personal items in the aftermath of the storm. Learn how you can make a tax deductible monetary contribution to the LCTCS Relief Fund .
