Martin Luther King Plaza Dedication Ceremony

April 4 of this year will mark the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. To honor the achievements and contributions of Dr. King and Coretta Scott King (Montgomery Bus Boycott, March on Washington, Civil Rights Act, Nobel Peace Prize, etc.) the City of Palo Alto is naming Civic Center Plaza in honor of the Kings.

Please join us for the dedication of King Plaza in Palo Alto on MLK Day -- Monday, January 21 at 2 pm in front of City Hall. And please help spread the word via email lists, congregational bulletins, school newsletters, etc.

  • Clarence Jones (former attorney and speechwriter for MLK)
  • Former Councilmember LaDoris Cordell
  • Vice Mayor Peter Drekmeier
